Our Design Process

01 Phone Consult
Every engagement begins the same way: a no-cost, no-obligation discovery Phone Consultation. This call is not a sales pitch it is a mutual evaluation. We want to understand the scope of your project, the priorities driving it, and the timeline you are working within. You want to understand who we are, how we work, and whether our process is the right fit for what you need. If we are the right team for your project, that will be clear to both of us by the end of the call and you can schedule a Design Meeting.
04 Site Documentation & Selections
With the design plan confirmed and the proposal approved, we return to the site with a different purpose: precision. We take comprehensive measurements and photographs, obtain any required building plans and site surveys, and gather everything needed to produce accurate floor plans, elevation drawings, and 3D renderings. Simultaneously, we begin the selections process curating and specifying every fixture, finish, material, and piece of merchandise required to bring the design plan to life.
07 Selections Finalization & Procurement
With your contractor selected and scope finalized, we move into procurement. In this phase we work with you to confirm approved selections and then manage the full procurement process by placing orders, coordinating shipping logistics, arranging receiving and warehousing where lead times require it, scheduling delivery and installation, and handling any returns or exchanges that arise. We navigate the complexity of supply chain and manage merchandise procurement all while giving you the savings from our trade discounts of 5%-65% to help stretch your budget.
02 Design Meeting
The Design Meeting is where the work begins in earnest. Booked directly during our phone consultation or through our website, this on-site meeting brings us to your property or, for new construction clients, to the table with your plans. We walk the site together, observing existing conditions, architectural character, and the specific opportunities and constraints the project presents. More importantly, we listen. We ask the questions that uncover not just what you want the property to look like, but how you need it to function, what concerns you, and what success genuinely means to you. From this conversation, we develop a comprehensive design plan, a clear aesthetic concept and scope of work that becomes the foundation for everything that follows, including your design plan Concept Boards and project Proposal.
05 Plans, Renderings & Selections Review
We present the initial floor plans, 3D renderings, and full selections package for your review. Seeing the project assembled visually — spatially, dimensionally, and in material — consistently surfaces refinements that could not have been anticipated at the concept stage. This is by design, not by oversight. We discuss any revisions needed, make adjustments where required, and use this meeting to finalize the contractor's scope of work. The outcome of this step is a complete, construction-ready document set that leaves nothing to interpretation in the field.
08 Construction Oversight & Client Communication
A design is only as good as it's execution, so throughout the construction phase we remain actively involved, consulting with contractors on design intent, performing jobsite visits to verify that work is proceeding in keeping with the approved plans and specifications, and meeting with you regularly to discuss progress, flag any issues, and make the decisions that inevitably arise during construction. This combination of active project oversight and ongoing communication with contractors and clients, is the key to keeping a project on track even in the face of unexpected issues.
03 Concept Boards & Proposal
Before a single measurement is taken or a single product is ordered, we present the vision for your project and review it in detail together with you. The concept boards are a precise visual expression of the design plan we developed together and reviewing them together gives us an opportunity to refine the vision to more accurately represent the clients' goals so that we have a mutually agreed upon vision for the project. Alongside the Concept Boards, we walk through the itemized project proposal in detail, reviewing scope, investment, and the option to proceed with the full project at once or to approach it in phases. This meeting is the path to you making an informed decision that aligns with your priorities.
06 Contractor Meeting
We bring you together with your prospective contractors to review the plans, renderings, and project scope onsite. It's also an opportunity for you to assess which contractor is the best fit for you personally. Because it's critical that you're not only comfortable with the contractor's abilities but also how their personality meshes with yours. The most productive working relationships are with people you enjoy working with, because your decision is about more than just the numbers. Equipped with the details of the project received during this meeting, the contractors prepare a detailed proposal and project schedule for you so you can decide who is right for the project. You are free to choose a contractor that we introduce you to or a contractor you've selected on your own, we are there to help you achieve your vision regardless of which contractor you choose to execute the work.
09 Final Installation & Styling
At the completion of construction, we focus on the installation of furnishings and décor, including planters. Every piece is placed with intention as a physical manifestation of the design vision. Once the furnishings are in place we style the space by layering decor, adjusting positioning and placement, attending to the finishing details, and ensuring the space is ready not just ready to be photographed but ready to be lived in and shared with loved ones.
