If there’s one thing you can count on in Interior Design, it’s that trends never sit still. What felt fresh a few years ago can feel tired today, and sometimes the classics make their way back with a twist. Here’s a quick, expert‑guided look at what’s rising and what’s on its way out.
DO - Color Drenching
In lieu of accent walls, people are embracing a bolder, more immersive approach; painting an entire room, walls, trim, even the ceiling in a single hue. This “color drenching” technique instantly makes a space feel soothing and sophisticated. Clay-toned bedrooms, soft sage dining rooms, and deep‑blue living rooms are especially popular. If you’re hesitant, start small with a pantry or powder room to build confidence.

DON'T - Beige-on-Beige
The beige‑on‑beige era is officially winding down. While neutrals can be beautiful, too much of the same tone flattens a room. People are craving color again, whether it’s a moss‑green velvet sofa, warm clay patterned throw pillows, or a deep blue-green ottoman. If you already have a bounty of beige, no need to replace everything, just layer in furniture pieces, rugs, draperies and decor that infuse colorful character.
DO - Eclectic Decor
This curated look was popular in the 90's and it's making a big comeback. Combining pieces with contrasting styles but complimentary qualities tells a rich dimensional story. Go ahead and pair a clean modern armchair with an antique European table, Bauhaus inspired lamp, and vintage rug. These unexpected combinations add character that makes a home feel collected rather than cookie-cutter.

DON'T - Matching Furniture Sets
Matching furniture sets are so out of style they've become tacky. Mixing materials, finishes, and silhouettes creates the dynamic interplay that brings a room to life. Ditch matching furniture sets for curated pieces that mix to evoke a collected over time feeling exclusively personal to you.
Trends evolve and so can your space. When you embrace making some changes to your interior design it can refresh your home making it feel new again.
